The Spa at the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen wins recognition from the IIDA as best ID project
Architecture Design of Palacio de Hierro Polanco

For the fourth time the IIDA (International Interior Design Association) announces the best designs in Latin America.

This prize recognizes and celebrates projects that demonstrate the highest levels of quality, creativity, originality and excellence in Interior Design in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The jury, comprised by leading professionals in the field, considered that Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen reflects the highest standards of excellence in design, emphasizing cultural aspects from the local environment in a sophisticated, global expression. For this reason it was the sole winner in the category “SPA/Fitness Centers/Gymnasiums”. The overall winner among the 12 categories will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on May 11 in Miami, Florida as part of Maison&Objet Americas.

We would like to congratulate the winners in all the different categories, and in particular Gensler + TPG for their prize in the "Retail" section for the interiors of the El Palacio de Hierro store in Polanco, for which SMA designed the architecture.

IIDA has over 15,000 members in 58 countries and seeks to promote excellence in design and leadership, increasing the value and understanding of interior design.
