René Ochoa García was born in Mexico City in 1955. He studied Civil Engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute in the same city, graduating in 1979.

René joined Grupo Sordo Madaleno in 1992 as Works Manager. During his experience in the field of construction René became deeply involved in the process of obtaining licenses, leading him to become Managing Department in 1998. His work involves managing and administering the licenses and permits required in the course of Grupo Sordo Madaleno’s real estate work from the authorities of the Federal District and the various states of Mexico.

Over 35 years in the private sector bear testimony to his deep knowledge, of which 23 have been spent as an important and irreplaceable member of GSM. His extensive experience and disposition in coordinating and preparing the development of a project from its commencement to completion working in coordination with the government has been essential to making the largest shopping and mixed-use complexes in Mexico a reality.

René has coordinated a large number of projects, including Plaza Satélite, Plaza Universidad, Moliere Dos22, Premium Outlet Punta Norte, Antea Lifestyle Center in Querétaro and several mixed-use developments such as the first stage of Antara, and Andamar 1 in Veracruz. He has also been involved in the development of hotels in Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo.

Previously, he formed part of the team at GHA y Asociados, in the department of hydraulic and sanitary project development. He also worked as Head of Real Estate Projects at Islas Corono Arquitectos y Asociados, Grupo Rual and Grupo Aconsa.
