The Landmark is a mixed-use project located on a regular-shaped site measuring 15,600sqm in one of the most exclusive zones of Zapopan. The guiding concept reflects its proper integration into the urban context, which is one of the fastest-growing areas of the city with the highest real-estate values.
The layout of the project is generated by the connection of the four corners by the defining form of the ellipse, which serves as the generative concept, one that is ideal for producing a simple spatial flow with a center in each space. In this way, each corner of the site generates a different type of connection, with the virtual axis of the ellipse marking an important openness in the volumetry of the complex, producing an urban window that establishes a visual connection with the city. The natural slope of the terrain was used to reinforce this gesture, with staircases at half-levels giving the sensation of having two ground floors.
The south corner opens with an internal roadway that follows the external curve of the building, connecting with the west corner that houses the motor lobby of the commercial complex, and a major pedestrian connection with the adjacent buildings. This road also serves as an organizing element to optimize flows and services of different uses, together with access to the six underground parking levels and avoid causing traffic jams on neighboring streets.
The north corner presents an opening that provides a direct pedestrian connection between the Andares Shopping Center (opposite) with the interior of Puerta de Hierro, generating synergy and a natural flow that complement both projects.
